Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do
From talking to people about their experiences of health and social care, to writing reports and updating our social media - volunteers are vital to our work. Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a regular commitment, we've got a volunteering role for everyone
Current volunteering opportunities
Take a look at our current volunteering opportunities:
Advisory Board Member
Become a part of our Advisory Board and play a key role in guiding the direction of Healthwatch Westminster. As a board member, you’ll help review and approve projects, ensuring that our initiatives are focused on the needs of the community. This is a great opportunity to contribute to high-level decision-making and leadership. Find out more about our board here.
Community Engagement Volunteer Role
As a Healthwatch volunteer, you’ll engage with the community by visiting hospitals, community hubs, and local organisations to gather feedback on health and social care services.
You’ll also help signpost people to relevant services, ensuring they get the support they need. This role offers valuable insights into the NHS and social care while directly contributing to the improvement of local services.
Enter & View Volunteer Role
As a volunteer, you’ll participate in Enter & View visits, where you’ll observe NHS services like hospitals and care homes. You’ll gather feedback from patients and staff to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement.
This feedback is compiled into reports with recommendations to be shared with the service provider to help improve care. Volunteers play a key role in shaping local health services through their contributions.
Social Media Marketing Volunteer Role
Help us spread awareness by creating content for our social media channels and online platforms. If you have an interest in digital marketing or communications, this role allows you to make a significant impact by raising the visibility of Healthwatch and encouraging more people to get involved.
Website Communications Volunteer Role
Engage with people by sharing information about local health and social care news and showcasing our studies and reports through written articles. This role enables you to support people in accessing the health guidance they need and in detailing how we use their voices to help shape and improve health and care services.
Postal Newsletter Volunteer Role
Our postal newsletter helps us to connect with community members without online access by informing them about health and social care news, our advice and information, and our latest reports. We’ll need your support to make sure the content is accessible to everyone.
