‘Making Time for Black Mental Health’ community event

Healthwatch Westminster and Healthwatch Kensington and Chelsea will be attending Think Tenacity’s ‘Making Time for Black Mental Health’ event in December which focuses on black mental health support.

Think Tenacity’s upcoming event will be a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with the local community and discuss the importance of mental health support and awareness in the black community.

The event will include participation from residents, service users, and mental health practitioners. This free event will take place in Nando’s Kensal Rise on Monday 1 December from 3:45pm – 6:30pm. It will also include both vegan and vegetarian options.

Delegates will enjoy a Q&A panel of Black therapists led by Dr Kenisha Jackson sharing self-care tips for the Christmas season and why hospital detention rates are higher for Black marginalised communities. 

‘Making Time for Black Mental Health’ Westminster events are open and non-judgemental spaces. If you need to leave the event early you are welcome to. You can also bring a friend or family to the event if you don't want to attend alone.

Who should attend:

  1. Open to all RBKC and Westminster residents
  2. Residents, service users and mental health practitioners
  3. Non-BAME/Black colleagues are welcome to attend this event for education and awareness for tackling health inequalities faced by Black marginalised communities
  4. All delegates receive a free Nando's meal and vegan/vegetarian options are available
