St Mary's Hospital masterplan consultation
The consultation runs until Friday 17 July. Please take a look at the consultation materials online and complete their short survey – they would like to hear your views.
St Mary’s has cared for local people and patients across London for more than 175 years. It is home to one of the capital’s four major trauma centres and has a long history of medical discovery, teaching and research.
However, many of the hospital’s buildings are now old, fragmented and increasingly difficult to maintain. We need to create a new hospital that can support safe, modern healthcare for generations to come, while keeping essential services running during redevelopment.
This next phase of consultation shares more detail on:
• the emerging design for the new hospital
• how the hospital could work day to day
• how services would continue while building work takes place
• access, arrival and movement around the site
• - better links to Paddington Station, surrounding streets and public transport public spaces, green space and places to pause
• building height, design and local impact
• how research, teaching and life sciences could support better healthcare and local opportunity
• how construction and future phases could be managed to reduce disruption
