CNWL launches new service for young adults’ mental health

Learn about an innovative series of workshops promoting young adults’ wellbeing.

Central and North West London Trust’s (CNWL) Discovery College has launched a series of workshops addressing the emotional and psychological challenges of early adulthood

Mental health professionals partnered with local young people and peer support workers to design and deliver these recovery-focused workshops. 

CNWL Discovery College is a space centred on flexibility and inclusivity that aims for understanding, shared learning, and long-term wellbeing. Its mission is to ‘guide young adults to harness and nurture their established individuality and resilience.’.

What to expect 

  • Each workshop centres on three principles: Becoming, Exploration, and Knowledge.
  • Session topics include adjusting to university life, understanding emotional regulation, managing low mood, and dealing with self-harm.
  • Each session is facilitated by a clinical trainer and lived experience trainer.
  • Participants are invited to build community with fellow young adults in a collaborative space.
  • Feedback will be gathered and incorporated into future sessions.

  • Workshops are free.
  • Participants have a choice of accessing the workshops online or in person.
  • Eligible participants include young adults (aged 16 - 25) who are living, studying or have a GP within Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.
  • Sessions are running throughout May and June 2025; stay tuned for future sessions to be added soon.

Beyond the workshops highlighted here, young people aged 16-25 can access a wide range of wellbeing and mental health resources. Resources can be tailored for young individuals navigating transitions such as benefits, housing, employment, education, as well as mental health challenges including stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, crises, and distress. People can choose from a suite of different resources, such as online support and communities, talking therapies, peer support, podcasts, blogs, self-assessments, and more.
